Great American Loop Cruise

Here's an account of our 11-month cruise of the Great Circle Loop, a 5,000+ mile trip that was the adventure of a lifetime. We left our home on the Chesapeake Bay to cruise around the eastern half of the U.S. up the Atlantic coast of New Jersey to the Hudson River, across New York state on the Erie Canal to Canada's Trent-Severn Waterway and Georgian Bay and the North Channel. From there we went down Lake Michigan to the Chicago, Illinois, Mississippi and Ohio rivers leading to the Tenn-Tombigbee River and Mobile Bay. We cruised Florida's Big Bend waters to Fort Myers where we entered the Okeechobee Waterway to Stuart and then north on the Intracoastal Waterway to Norfolk and back to our home waters on the Chesapeake Bay.
